Our client is a major insurance practice and market leader in the professional indemnity sector, with a team of more than 100 professional indemnity lawyers across the country. Their 30-strong team in Bristol is both well established and well balanced and continues to grow. The team in Bristol handle a very wide range of work, including professional indemnity claims, D&O claims, construction and complex coverage matters. The team have an outstanding client list, including composite insurers, London Market insurers, self-insureds and corporate clients.
The Role
Our client wishes to recruit an associate to help service the team’s ever-increasing volume of work. The role will involve running a diverse caseload of professional indemnity claims and assisting experienced lawyers with complex matters.
Key requirements
- Previous defendant professional indemnity experience (2+ PQE)
- An ability to prioritise workload
- An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to work with case management systems
- The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers
- Legal qualification required – solicitor/FCILEx
Desirable
- Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole.
- Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise).
