The Opportunity:
We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Chief Compliance and Risk Officer, to be the spearhead in ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations within their Digital Asset operations. This role is ideal for a strategic, results driven Chief Compliance and Risk Officer who has broad international exposure across numerous jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective AML program specific to digital assets, in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and gaps in AML processes.
- Act as the key point of contact for all AML-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging trends, regulatory changes, and industry advancements in the digital asset space.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance compliance measures and implement necessary controls.
- Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions, ensuring timely filing of suspicious activity reports (SARs) as required by regulatory bodies.
- Provide ongoing training and awareness programs to educate employees on AML policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Track record of operating as a Senior Compliance Leader, preferably within the digital assets industry.
- In-depth knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and their application to digital asset operations.
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and digital asset platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Thorough understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Professional certifications would be highly desirable.
