Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact for a diverse portfolio of domestic and international trusts and estates.
- Provide high‑level advisory services, including the drafting of comprehensive technical reports for executors and beneficiaries.
- Advise on complex Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) planning, including lifetime transfers and trust restructuring.
- Lead the technical delivery of trust accounts and trust/estate tax returns, ensuring seamless compliance and reporting.
- Support Partners and Directors with business development and the continued expansion of the firm’s fiduciary tax services.
As a Trusts & Estates Tax Manager you will:
- Manage the commercial performance of your portfolio, including WIP, billing, and the management of project deadlines.
- Mentor and coach junior staff, reviewing their technical output and supporting their professional development toward CTA or STEP qualifications.
- Confidently manage and negotiate HMRC enquiries and technical settlements on behalf of clients.
- Drive departmental efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements in trust administration and reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external advisers, including solicitors and investment managers.
