As an OMB Tax Manager you will:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of share scheme related work, overseeing both complex advisory projects and compliance work for owner-managed businesses.
- Act as the primary day-to-day contact for an ambitious portfolio of clients, managing expectations around scopes, fees, and delivery deadlines.
- Delegate work effectively to trainees and seniors, reviewing technical output prior to Director or Partner sign-off while actively coaching junior team members on technical knowledge and best practices.
- Identify high-level tax planning opportunities, scoping advisory projects, drafting technical reports, clearances, and technical memoranda following senior discussions.
- Actively manage WIP, job budgets, and reporting structures to monitor delivery efficiency and maximize team recoveries.
As the successful candidate you will:
- Hold an ACA, ATT, or CTA qualification, or possess equivalent extensive experience within a public practice tax environment.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of reviewing and delivering complex OMB tax assignments, with specific technical experience or an awareness of share schemes.
- Exhibit strong commercial acumen, with practical experience handling job budgeting, WIP management, and commercial recovery.
- Display the confidence and professional judgement required to operate with autonomy, handle high-risk technical matters, and elevate issues appropriately to Directors or Partners.
