Responsibilities

Manage a dedicated portfolio of rural and private clients, serving as their primary trusted adviser for accountancy and tax planning matters.

Deliver complex tax advisory outcomes encompassing Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Inheritance Tax (IHT), VAT, and Trusts + Estates.

Review and approve technically robust tax computations, accounts, and self-assessment returns in accordance with UK GAAP, FRS 102 1A, and FRS 105.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team by conducting performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, and delegating workflow effectively.

Oversee portfolio WIP, fee billing, recoveries, and compliance tracking to maximize operational efficiency and team productivity.

Drive business development initiatives by identifying advisory opportunities within the existing client base and attending external profile-building events.

Collaborate on firmwide strategic initiatives, including technology adoption, best practice standardisation, and cross-departmental referral projects.

As an Accounts and Advisory Manager you will:

Act as the lead contact for complex client advisory projects, delivering tailored tax strategies for business owners and landed families.

Supervise the daily workflow of junior and senior team members, ensuring strict adherence to technical and quality compliance standards.

Implement modern accountancy software and technology solutions to streamline client reporting and operational processes.

Assist partners with complex advisory assignments and specialized HMRC enquiries or investigations.

Build and maintain a strong professional network across the regional business and agricultural community.
