Corporate Reporting Accountant – First step into Industry – North West

Are you an auditor seeking a first step into an inhouse role? Would you enjoy working within a commercially focused business partnering role?

Our client is a large, international professional services firm based in Lancashire with an internal finance team of c80 staff. With offices throughout the UK and global reach, their corporate reporting team support commercial decision-making for each of the firm’s service lines. Given the fee-earning nature of professional services, this role suits an auditor who understands how the professional services sector charges it’s clients. This is a great opportunity for someone to make their first move into an industry role and to offer a value add service to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and reviewing financial statements
  • Preparing technical accounting papers
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of tax returns including VAT, employment taxes and corporation taxes.
  • Managing regulatory and controls risk

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Ideally ACA/ACCA qualified
  • A minimum of 3 years practical experience
  • Proficient in Excel (understanding of pivot tables, vlookup, sumif etc. as a minimum)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
