An opportunity for an experienced fit-out QS to take commercial ownership of workplace and higher education projects, with involvement from pre-construction through to final account. The role combines estimating, procurement and live project management. You’ll work through design information, test supply-chain pricing and establish a robust cost position before managing the commercials during delivery.

A traditional fit-out background would be particularly relevant. You’ll be dealing with client QS teams, consultants and wider professional teams, so the ability to explain costs clearly and negotiate with confidence is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing estimates and supporting two-stage, open-book tenders
  • Reviewing scope and identifying gaps in pricing
  • Procuring and negotiating subcontract packages
  • Managing valuations, variations, CVRs and forecasts
  • Agreeing client and subcontractor final accounts
  • Identifying commercial risks and protecting profitability

You should have experience pricing and commercially managing fit-out projects up to £10m, alongside a sound understanding of JCT contracts. Some schemes carry significant M&E content, making the ability to interrogate specialist packages especially useful.

This would suit a Senior QS who enjoys technical detail, direct client interaction and responsibility across the full commercial lifecycle. London-based, with a salary of up to £100,000 plus package. Please get in touch for further details.
