A specialist commercial fit-out and refurbishment contractor is looking to appoint a Design Manager to support the delivery of complex workplace refurbishment projects across London.

This role will initially sit within an established project team on a technically demanding Cut & Carve scheme, working closely with a Senior Design Manager while taking ownership of key design packages from pre-construction through to completion.

The position would suit someone currently operating as a Design Manager, Assistant Design Manager or Technical Coordinator within commercial fit-out or refurbishment, looking to step into a role with greater ownership and long-term progression.

The Role You’ll be responsible for coordinating allocated design packages throughout delivery, ensuring information is technically robust, buildable, compliant and aligned with programme requirements.

The role will involve close coordination with architects, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams, managing design interfaces and driving actions across live project workstreams.

You’ll also gain exposure to:

• Structural alterations
• Existing building constraints
• Strip-out works
• Services integration
• Construction sequencing
• Design Release Schedules (DRS)
• Technical coordination within live refurbishment environments

What They’re Looking For:

• Experience within a Design Manager, Assistant Design Manager or Technical Coordinator position within a Main Contractor
• Commercial fit-out, refurbishment or Cut & Carve project experience
• Strong understanding of construction detailing and buildability
• Experience coordinating consultants and subcontractors within live projects
• Revit and BIM coordination experience
• Organised and proactive approach with strong technical problem-solving ability
