Database Operations Manager

About the Role: A leading workplace design and fit-out company is looking for an experienced Database Operations Manager to join their IT team. This role involves managing the performance, integrity, and security of the company’s databases, including a bespoke CRM platform. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in database management while also being business-facing, helping teams optimize their use of data.    Key Responsibilities: Database Management: Manage, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases Monitor performance, implement changes, and apply patches Ensure high levels of data availability and consistency Database Security: Implement security policies to protect company data Monitor access logs and enforce access controls Support starters and leavers with secure database access Data Migration: Lead data migration from legacy systems to a new CRM Work with external partners to ensure data integrity Backup & Recovery: Develop and test backup and recovery plans Ensure high availability of data, including clustering Performance Tuning & Development: Optimise database performance through indexing and query tuning Support design of future management information projects Collaborate with teams to improve database functionality Troubleshooting & Compliance: Identify and resolve database issues efficiently Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal policies Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB Strong understanding of database security, performance tuning, and backup strategies Relevant database management certifications (preferred) What’s in it for you?: Competitive salary 23 days holiday (increasing annually up to 28 days) Enhanced parental leave Paid training & development opportunities Cycle-to-work scheme Nationwide gym discounts & free fitness classes Fresh fruit, barista-style coffee & monthly birthday cakes Regular social events & staff meals 24/7 employee assistance program with BUPA Funding towards eye tests & glasses Life insurance – 4x annual salary If you're ready to take on a new challenge in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, get in touch
