This role combines design, costing, commercial coordination and gross profit management. It is suited to someone who enjoys a fast-paced, hands-on position within a project sales and delivery environment.
You will support the sales team with costings, quotations, project layout drawings and commercial input within the industrial fit-out sector. Experience in commercial fit-out environments is preferred, particularly across internal construction elements such as partitioning, joinery, plumbing, electrical, data and fire systems.
- Liaise with subcontractors to obtain installation and labour costs.
- Produce or coordinate CAD layouts based on survey and sales information.
- Prepare detailed project proposals for internal review.
- Conduct site surveys where required and support design development.
- Provide commercial input on contract terms, payment terms and risk mitigation.
- Carry out commercial risk assessments on new clients in collaboration with finance.
- Handover secured projects to delivery teams with clear cost, design and programme information.
- Support procurement activity alongside project managers.
- Present project updates, profitability and performance internally.
- Take ownership of pre-construction design coordination, ensuring practicality and buildability.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety standards and relevant building legislation.
Key performance measures:
- Accuracy and realism of project costings.
- Strength of agreed commercial terms.
- Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM systems.
- Experience in storage, fit-out or similar project environments is beneficial.
- Ability to interpret commercial documentation and identify risk.
- Experience producing design layouts using CAD (or similar software).
- Understanding of commercial fit-out or interior construction environments.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and relevant building/design legislation.
