The role of the Senior NEC Supervisor is pivotal in supervising the Contractor's adherence to the Contract Specification, managing on-site operations and ensuring compliance with the project requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administrating financial matters and working with the wider contract administration team to confirm data for contractor work assessments.
- Ensuring the Contractor follows the Contract Specification and Testing & Certification requirements.
- Promoting best practices across the Delivery Team.
- Overseeing the Contractor's operations for compliance and recording daily work progress.
- Inspecting works that will be covered as part of the permanent works.
- Recording and managing defective works within the site quality systems and CEMAR.
- Ensuring timely closure of defects by the Contractor.
- Monitoring on-site health and safety, reporting risks to the Project Manager.
- Attending meetings as requested by the Project Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in the Highway and Bridge sector, including leading supervision and technical teams.
- Familiarity with the MCHW - Specification for Highway Works.
- Valid Driving Licence and CSCS Card.
- Ability to attend the site as required.
Desirable:
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
- Experienced in using CEMAR for recording Defects.
- NEC4 ECC Supervisor accreditation.
Competencies & Behaviours:
- Confidently liaise with the Contractor on technical matters and inspections.
- Proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Communicate effectively regarding health and safety practices.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills within a collaborative environment.
- Excellent record management, including daily diaries and app-based record keeping.

Reporting & Communication:
- Report directly to the Project Manager, part of the contract administration team.
- Independently liaise with the Contractor's operational team daily.
- Manage inspectors to ensure the Contractor's quality assurance.
Working Location:
On-site presence required for the entire working week for the duration of the works.
