Join Stanley House in Ledbury as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.
Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service. You will receive all necessary training to get you started and join the dedicated team, where you can make a positive difference and be part of changing lives for the better. As a Maintenance Assistant you will:
- Assist with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Utilise good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
- Assist in regular checks and maintenance.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
- Assist in all decorating.
- Liaise with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
- Participate in a 1-week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
- Coordinate and support contractors whilst on site and complete all paperwork and tool checks.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Comply with system and procedures.
- Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
- Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
Where you will be working:
Location: Bosbury, Hereford, Herefordshire, HR8 1HB. You will be working at Stanley House, a service which offers a multidisciplinary approach to its long-term care provision and provides the specialised care and expert therapeutic interventions. You will be working alongside the multidisciplinary team to support and enable residents to undergo reviews of their specific and/or changing needs. Stanley House offers therapies and activities which include Physiotherapy and Art therapy and receives input from a Professor in Neuropsychiatry and monthly specialist GP clinics.
