Senior Systems Engineer – Bristol, Manchester, Reading, Hampshire or London – Permanent (37.5 hours per week) – £55,000 – £85,000 (Senior, Lead and Principal levels available) – SC Clearance or DV Clearance or willing to undergo.
Our client is working with the Defence and Nuclear industry, supporting clients with the Systems Engineering challenges, specifically championing a Model Based Systems Engineering approach.
They are looking for experienced Systems Engineers who are passionate about MBSE to lead projects and programmes with their clients, advising them on processes and driving through to delivery!
This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on site and travel to client sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead client engagements within Defence and Nuclear, delivering engineering outputs within time, cost and quality.
- Provide Systems Engineering consultancy, acting as a trusted advisor to clients.
- Act as the MBSE Champion, driving forward an MBSE approach.
- Work with clients across the whole Systems Lifecycle from requirements through to design and delivery.
- Develop architectural definitions and plans.
- Lead the use of best practice techniques and tools on client and internal projects.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve successful client decision milestones.
- Identify further opportunities within clients to grow the practice and the team.
- Mentor and/or coach junior engineers, contributing to their career development.
- Lead the integration of complex systems, including military naval, air and land platforms.
Key Skills:
- Equivalent experience within a Senior/Lead/Principal Systems Engineering position, ideally within Defence or Nuclear or related industry.
- Highly experienced and passionate about MBSE (eg. Sparx EA or Cameo).
- Experience working for a Consultancy company would be favourable.
- A Chartered Engineer or a desire to become one.
- Knowledge of modelling languages and architecture frameworks (UML/SysML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, MODAF).
- Knowledge across the whole engineering lifecycle and specifically requirements engineering.
- Task or people leadership.
