A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a person to join our client in Belfast who specializes in International Ocean Freight Services along with general Freight Forwarding activities.
Our client has become one of the most successful International Ocean Freight providers in Northern Ireland and they are looking to hire a General Manager/Senior Freight Forwarder.
The candidate hired for this role will be responsible for the overall delivery and quality of the business’s services whilst ensuring the customer experience is of the highest level.
Our client is looking for a driven and ambitious individual that will bring a positive and friendly attitude to daily operations and assist in the growth of the business.
You must have a strong working knowledge of the Northern Ireland market as well as a strong understanding of the Deep Sea Freight Forwarding sector. A day-to-day hands-on approach is needed.
Duties Include:
- Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are always followed.
- Management of Import/Export Team.
- Setting & Monitoring KPIs and completing Management reporting.
- Providing guidance to and support managers and staff members as required.
- Monitoring Customer Service Satisfaction.
Criteria/Experience Required:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years deep sea freight experience and a background of working in NI / UK.
- Planning and forecasting.
- Effective decision making.
- Freight Forwarding knowledge & experience of Deep-Sea Ocean Freight (Exports & Imports).
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Effective management and delegation skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to lead and manage teams.
- Some Customs knowledge would be desirable.
Package:
Salary – Negotiable but subject to experience.
