We are currently hiring Steel Fabricators for an industry leader in the Building Services sector, specialising in the manufacture of offsite-prefabricated building service solutions for projects throughout the UK & Europe.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-17:00 Friday 07:00-16:00 (44 hours)
Job Summary
To fabricate a range of pipe arrangements through the use of a variety of welds, i.e., TIG, MMA and MAG.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
- Fabricate and weld pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel ranging from 65mm - 150mm) from shop drawings.
- Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
- Complete Cross Training in various welding activities.
- Ensure Company H&S Processes followed.
- To operate MIG/TIG or MMA welding equipment.
- Use precision measurement instruments and metal cutting and grinding equipment.
- Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience working as a fabricator welder in Pipe Fabrication and Welding.
- The ability to interpret welding procedure requirements.
- Able to use Shop floor hand tools.
- Confident in understanding shop fabrication and assembly drawings.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a pipe fabricator, producing a wide range of pipe arrangements with either TIG/MAG and able to use MMA.
- Previous experience within a heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork or welding environment.
