Care Assistants – Day and Night Shifts

Austin Dean Recruitment is recruiting compassionate, reliable and experienced Care Assistants on behalf of an established care provider in Swindon.
Day and night shifts are available within a residential care setting supporting older people.
You will provide practical, emotional and personal support, helping residents maintain their dignity, independence, existing skills and quality of life.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans.
- Support residents with personal care, mobility and nutritional needs.
- Encourage residents to maintain their independence and daily living skills.
- Provide sensitive emotional support to residents and their families.
- Maintain accurate care records and report any changes or concerns.
- Report safeguarding concerns, accidents and incidents immediately.
- Complete routine safety and building checks.
- Use moving and handling equipment safely, including hoists, slide sheets, transfer boards and turntables.
- Assist with meal service, bed-making and light domestic duties when required.
- Protect residents’ confidentiality, privacy and dignity.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Work collaboratively with senior staff, colleagues, families and relevant professionals.
- Attend mandatory training, supervision and team meetings.
Essential requirements
- Right to Work in the UK with previous experience supporting older or vulnerable people in a residential, community or similar care setting.
- A caring, patient and respectful approach.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- An understanding of safeguarding adults, confidentiality, equality and professional boundaries.
- Awareness of health and safety, infection prevention and moving and handling requirements.
- Mandatory Training, Medicine, First Aid, Manual Handling, Dementia, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, Fire Training and Infection Control.
