Austin Dean Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Care Workers to support Older People’s Short Stay Services within Adult Social Care & Health in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of older adults living with dementia and frailty, whilst working within a supportive and professional care environment.
The Role
You will provide high-quality social, emotional, physical and personal care to older adults, promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times. You will support individuals with dementia and frailty to regain and maintain their independent living skills through person-centred care and rehabilitation-focused support.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care and emotional support to service users
- Promote independence through daily living support plans
- Support rehabilitation programmes set by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists
- Encourage participation in activities and provide 1:1 engagement where appropriate
- Maintain accurate and professional care records
- Report safeguarding concerns in line with policies and procedures
- Attend mandatory training, supervision and team meetings
- Support the delivery of a safe, effective and person-centred service
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of care
Requirements
- Minimum 12 months UK care experience preferred
- Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care or Care Certificate desirable
- Willingness to complete relevant qualifications if not already held
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of dementia care and older people’s needs
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and health & safety procedures
