Austin Dean Recruitment is currently seeking caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to support adults with learning disabilities within a vibrant and welcoming Day Care Centre in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking for regular daytime agency work. You will play a key role in helping individuals build confidence, develop independence, learn new skills, and participate in meaningful activities both within the centre and in the local community.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or complex care requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A person-centred approach and commitment to promoting independence.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate care records.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, reliable, and professional approach to work.
Compliance Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service (essential).
- Up-to-date Mandatory Training, including Safeguarding Adults & Children, Moving & Handling, Basic Life Support, Infection Prevention & Control, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, Dementia Care, Fire Safety, First Aid Awareness, Food Hygiene, Medication, GDPR / Data Protection.
- Right to Work in the UK.

- Proof of relevant qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support adults with learning disabilities to achieve their personal goals and outcomes.
- Deliver engaging activities within the Day Care Centre and local community.
