The Global Events team at Akamai is responsible for designing and executing high-impact marketing programs around the world. We develop data-driven strategies that drive demand, accelerate pipeline growth, and contribute directly to revenue. From executive briefings to global industry events, we create experiences that elevate our brand and engage our customers.

As an Event Marketing Intern, you won't just coordinate logistics; you'll contribute to multi-layered marketing initiatives alongside a dynamic, creative, and globally distributed team. Our 2026 12‐week intern program starts on May 26th and goes through August 14th.

Partner with the best

You will support the execution of our 2026 global event strategy across both internal and external programs, including work with our Executive Briefing Center (EBC) in Cambridge.

As an Intern – Event Marketing, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting end‐to‐end event planning and execution
  • Conducting primary and secondary industry and market research
  • Collaborating cross‐functionally with Product Marketing, Creative, Campaigns, Marketing Operations, and Field Marketing teams
  • Assisting with budget tracking and spend documentation
  • Coordinating with vendors and external partners
  • Supporting customer experiences at the Executive Briefing Center
  • Helping deliver impactful digital and in‐person events

  • Be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Business, Marketing, or a related field, and returning to school after the internship
  • Be passionate about live and experiential marketing
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Have exceptional written and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Be detail‐oriented with formidable organizational skills

Akamai's Summer 2026 Intern Program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (May‐August). This is a hybrid role and will require some in‐person presence at Akamai's Cambridge HQ.
