Role Description The Commercial Property Consultant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Leighton Buzzard, requiring a qualified solicitor with at least 5 years PQE in commercial property. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a caseload of commercial property transactions, such as leases, acquisitions, disposals, and landlord and tenant matters. The role involves advising clients on legal and commercial risks, drafting and negotiating contracts and ancillary documentation, and liaising with other professionals and stakeholders to progress transactions efficiently. The consultant will maintain strong client relationships, provide clear and timely communication, and contribute to business development activities to grow the commercial property practice. The role also includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies, and supporting more junior team members when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong consulting and advisory skills, with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic commercial property advice.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues in accessible language.
- Proven customer service focus, with a track record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Experience in sales and business development within legal or professional services, including networking and cross-selling.
- Solid technical expertise in real estate and commercial property law, with at least 5 years PQE managing a varied caseload.
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification), with current practicing certificate and good knowledge of UK property law.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a small team environment.
- Familiarity with case management systems and standard office software; willingness to adapt to new technologies.
