Welder (Offsite with Occasional Scunthorpe Work) Primarily Offsite, with occasional work in Scunthorpe Pay Rate: * £16.50 per hour (Scunthorpe-based work) * £18.15 per hour (Offsite work) Hours: Monday – Thursday, 40 hours per week (38 hours paid) Overtime: Regular overtime available Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Welder to join a busy engineering team, primarily working offsite with occasional assignments in Scunthorpe. The role involves welding train bogies to precise safety and quality standards, using both MIG and Stick welding techniques. Key Responsibilities * Perform MIG and Stick welding on train bogies to engineering specifications. * Work predominantly offsite, with occasional work in Scunthorpe. * Interpret and work from technical drawings. * Maintain high standards of weld quality and ensure work meets relevant safety standards. * Operate hand and power tools for preparation and finishing. * Follow all health and safety protocols. * Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe. Skills & Experience Required * Proven MIG and Stick welding experience (preferably within rail, heavy engineering, or similar sectors). * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. * Willingness to travel and work at various offsite locations. * Full UK driving licence (preferred).
