We are looking for a Press Brake Operator to set up and operate CNC and semi-automatic press brake machinery to bend, form, and fabricate sheet metal components to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring parts are produced accurately, safely, and to schedule in support of the client's production of specialist equipment.
As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Setting up and operating CNC and semi-automatic press brakes to bend and form sheet metal/plate to engineering drawings
- Selecting tooling, calculating bend sequences and allowances, and dialling in accurate programs
- Working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium across varying gauges
- Carrying out quality checks and first-off inspections
- Working closely with the fabrication and welding teams to keep production flowing
The ideal candidate will be:
- Proven experience operating CNC/semi-automatic press brakes in a fabrication or sheet metal environment
- Confident reading engineering drawings and flat patterns
- Good understanding of tooling, bend sequencing, and material behaviour
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and takes pride in accurate work
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience with Bystronic Press break machine
- FLT licence
- NVQ or apprenticeship in sheet metal/fabrication/engineering
