The Assistant Merchandiser supports the Merchandising team in driving sales and profitability through effective planning, analysis, and in-season trading across multiple markets. Working closely with the Merchandiser and Buyer, the role focuses on sales, margin, pricing, and performance analysis. This is a commercially driven role suited to someone analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to develop within merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Merchandiser and Buyer in developing and maintaining commercially successful product ranges aligned to brand and customer needs.
- Assist with weekly, seasonal, and annual sales and margin planning across category, channel, and market.
- Produce accurate weekly trade reports analysing sales, margin, AOV, conversion, and demand trends, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Monitor in-season performance and support trading actions including pricing, promotions, and range optimisation.
- Maintain accurate product, pricing, and margin data to support forecasting and decision-making.
- Assist with category, market, and customer analysis to identify growth opportunities and underperforming areas.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support wider merchandising and business initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Assistant Merchandiser or Merchandising Admin role (luxury, jewellery, fashion, or accessories preferred).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Commercially minded with an interest in trading and performance optimisation.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
