Your Role
Aurum seeks a highly motivated, proactive and results-focused professional to join its Operational Due Diligence team. This role is perfect for a candidate who is comfortable working autonomously, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a specialist team environment. The Operational Due Diligence (ODD) Team at Aurum was formed in 2005 to address the non-investment risks inherent within hedge fund investments. The team operates independently of the Investment Due Diligence Team to objectively identify potential risk areas within prospective investments and monitor the operational framework in place for existing investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiating and conducting in-depth operational due diligence reviews with senior staff at external hedge fund managers, building strong professional relationships with key stakeholders.
- Reviewing and completing detailed ODD reports on potential hedge fund investments as well as service providers (fund administrators, auditors, prime brokers, custodians).
- Leading ongoing ODD monitoring, including periodic refreshes, trigger-based reviews (personnel changes, service provider changes, incidents), and completing annual report updates.
- Reviewing existing internal systems and working on evolving and enhancing ODD processes.
- Participating in group-wide initiatives where relevant, such as data visualisation, philanthropic initiatives and AI integration projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrable experience assessing operational risk within an investment management environment (with direct ODD hedge fund experience or operational experience within a hedge fund environment essential, with a preference for digital asset knowledge and experience).
- Passion for both operational due diligence and process innovation.
- Ability to support team members in developing their skills, including sharing market knowledge and industry best practices.
- Preferably ACA/ACCA/CAIA/CFA charterholder or equivalent.
