Software Engineer in London

We are seeking a high-calibre Software Developer to join a London-based Operations development team at a global hedge fund. This is a high-autonomy role designed for a developer who thrives in a lean environment. Operating without dedicated project managers, you will hold end-to-end ownership of business-critical systems, interfacing directly with Traders, Treasury, Finance, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of projects from requirement definition through to production.
• Design and build robust solutions using C#/.NET or Java .
• Shape and scale the AI platform within the fund’s operational framework.
• Partner directly with business heads to translate complex needs into technical reality.
• Contribute to architectural strategy, maintain high engineering standards, and mentor junior developers.

Technical Requirements

• Expert-level full-stack experience in C#/.NET or Java .
• Advanced SQL proficiency.
• Deep understanding of AI fundamentals and a proven track record of delivering AI tooling/platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver pragmatic, high-impact solutions.
• Excellent communication skills.

Desirable Skills :

• Experience with Kafka or other streaming technologies.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
