Job Summary
Control, monitor and adjust equipment and processes to meet production targets. Report and investigate deviations from normal operating conditions, and deal with basic process upsets.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Compliance
- Understand the Major Accident Prevention Policy / Plan (MAPP) and Safety and Environment Management Systems.
- Comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and arrangements.
- Inspect and use plant equipment, machinery and personal protective equipment correctly, take corrective action within competency level and report defects to line management.
- Report all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly.
- Act in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
- Ensure adequate assessment and authorisation before using new equipment or making modifications through the Management of Change procedure.
- Only undertake work for which you have been appropriately trained.
- When an abnormal situation or emergency occurs, carry out necessary actions to ensure safety, and be available for the Emergency Response Team according to training and expertise.
- Stop processes safely when HSE is critically compromised.
- Participate in Process Hazard Assessment studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA).
- Participate in risk assessments and incident root cause investigations.
- Contribute to writing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Comply with electrical and fire safety procedures.
- Comply with manual handling procedures.
Technical
- Prepare for startup, monitor, maintain, handover, complete, and shut down processes.
- Maintain product quality.
- Prepare process materials according to instructions.
- Manage materials into and between production stages.
- Separate and dispose of by-products and waste appropriately.
- Clean and prepare plant equipment.
- Prepare work areas for maintenance.
- Maintain engineering assets condition and report equipment and material defects to supervision.
- Carry out analytical testing to ensure product integrity as required.
- Complete all documentation to the required standard.
- Maintain area housekeeping and 5S status.
- Update operations status via Tier 1 Board & permit status via Permit Board.
