We’re currently looking for a Part Time Kitchen Assistant to work alongside the Cook and Kitchen Assistant in our school kitchen.
Key Duties:
- Working closely with the School Cook to ensure the prompt and efficient preparation and service of all hot and cold meals
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the school kitchen and associated areas
- Assisting when required with planning menus, ordering and receiving deliveries
- Working effectively and flexibly in a busy environment
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Experience working in a reactive catering environment e.g. school/residential/health care setting
- Possess good working knowledge of kitchen equipment and cleaning schedules
- Able to work proactively and in a self-directed/self-sufficient way
- Working knowledge of health and safety legislation, including COSHH regulations, manual handling, food hygiene procedures and requirements in relation to food preparation
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with a range of colleagues
- Flexibility to deal with many and varied requests made on a daily basis
- Display and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
