Teacher – Primary

Location : Smallfield, Surrey

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £34,398 – £48,913 per year (M1 – UPS1 Fringe) ** Plus £5,000 Welcome bonus For Qualified Teacher*

Hours: 40 hours per week – Term Time only – Start time 8.15am – Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.45pm. Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm

Aurora Redehall School supports pupils aged 6–11 with communication difficulties linked to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We’re seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join our school. You will be delivering high quality teaching and learning. Although Aurora Redehall is a primary school, many of the students are working at least 2 academic years behind their chronological age. Knowledge of teaching KS1 and early KS2 is desirable.

  • Key Duties:

    You will be accountable to the school leadership team, below are some of the key duties you will be expected to carry out:

  • Deliver and develop curriculum plans that meet students’ educational, physical, and social needs.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets.
  • Assess, track, and report student progress to stakeholders in line with school policies.
  • Create structured, engaging lessons with clear objectives and challenge.
  • Contribute to reviews of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC meetings.
  • Stay informed on autism-related developments to support effective teaching.
  • Work positively and non-confrontationally to meet individual needs.
  • Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the school when required. Please see attached job description for more details.

    Skills and Qualifications

  • QTS is essential
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH and PDA profile
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
