Auroras Software Solutions team is building the global investment analytics platform for the energy transition. It is a seamlessly integrated suite of software products allowing our users to value and benchmark any asset or portfolio, under any business model and market scenario, anywhere in the world. Widely adopted by leading energy companies and investors, the platform changes the way that energy market analytics is performed and delivered.
Based in Oxford, you will contribute to developing Auroras growing suite of software solutions, used by leading companies across the energy sector. You will help customers implement their projects on our platform and collaborate with various Auroras teams to improve the product and increase adoption. You will work with large datasets and support the deployment of our services across many different countries.
You will help shape a platform that energy professionals can use intuitively and that agents can navigate seamlessly - raising the bar for how Auroras models are accessed, understood, and acted on. The ideal profile will combine analytical rigour and comfort working in technically complex domains with a genuine interest in product quality, user experience, and cross-functional collaboration. They will work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, demanding and collaborative environment. They will gain a deep understanding of the energy industry and product management skills, working at the forefront of the global energy transformation.
The position suits a recent graduate of a bachelor's or master's degree or someone with 1.5-3 years of experience in a technical, analytical, or product-facing role within energy, software, or data-heavy environments. Job grade will depend on skills and previous experience.
Key Responsibilities- Become a subject matter expert in battery investment case evaluation, including the logic and assumptions underlying Auroras internal models.
- Work closely with modellers, software engineers, and research analysts to translate user needs and capability gaps into well-defined requirements and user stories, and support delivery of solutions.
- Define acceptance criteria and review test evidence to ensure that solutions delivered meet end users' expectations.
- Apply advanced analytics techniques (e.g. statistical analysis, visualisation, sensitivity testing) to interrogate, validate and interpret model outputs.
- Monitor product performance by analysing adoption metrics and client usage patterns.
- Create lightweight exploratory artefacts (mock ups, sample charts, working notes) to clarify ambiguous questions with project stakeholders and collect client feedback.
- Support internal and external clients by answering technical product queries, investigating model behaviour, and gathering structured feedback to improve the user experience.
- Act as a point of contact for regional teams and internal stakeholders synthesising feedback across markets.
- Drive alignment across teams on how model capabilities are defined, documented, and consumed, ensuring a consistent and seamless experience for users.
- Share learnings across Auroras software team, and contribute to building a culture of rigorous, insight-driven product development, including using AI tools to improve the quality, speed or scope of professional work.
- Bachelor’s degree and evidence of strong academic performance (First, 2:1 or similar) in a quantitative or technical discipline.
- 1.5-3 years of relevant experience with evidence of independent problem-solving and feature-level ownership, in an analytical, software, consulting, or product-facing role.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret, and explain complex quantitative or interconnected problems, including the assumptions and evidence underlying conclusions.
- Ability to independently interrogate quantitative evidence using code, analytical software, or reproducible AI-assisted workflows, and to inspect the reasoning and outputs produced.
- Strong interest in energy and power markets.
- Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments and project management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your communication style for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fast learner and self-starter: curious, quick to take ownership and eager to take on responsibility early.
