Based in Oxford, you will join the Business Systems team, supporting Aurora’s Advisory business unit by managing and optimising its enterprise technology landscape. The Advisory department operates through bespoke, project-based engagements rather than standardised products. Work is delivered by dynamically formed teams across phases such as scoping, analysis, modelling, review, and delivery. Projects often run in parallel, evolve iteratively, and require strict confidentiality and governance. Deliverables typically include models, datasets, reports, and presentations to support client decision‑making. This creates a fast‑paced and complex operating environment, with frequent changes to resourcing, data structures, and reporting needs. Systems must therefore support flexible project delivery, secure collaboration, and accurate tracking of performance and commercial outcomes.
In this role, you will own and optimise core business processes for the Advisory function, ensuring they are well‑designed, scalable, and supported by effective system configurations. You will define and maintain global standards, while allowing for necessary regional variation, and drive ongoing simplification and standardisation where appropriate. Additionally, you will act as the key link between business users and central systems governance, ensuring that Advisory teams are effectively supported by the broader technology estate. This includes aligning systems with business needs, improving processes through configuration, automation, and integration, and ensuring strong governance and security alignment.
The successful candidate will have a passion for problem‑solving and combine exceptional analytical capabilities with great communication skills, stakeholder and time management. You will enjoy autonomy, working in a creative, intellectually stimulating environment, and relish the opportunity to have a significant impact on business process optimisation in conjunction with a technology estate. You will collaborate with stakeholders across regions, requiring occasional flexibility in working hours e.g. 7am/7pm calls with overseas colleagues.
Key Responsibilities- Systems Management: Overall responsibility for business unit systems strategy, across all systems both currently in use and for the future, creating and maintaining an effective system roadmap for the team (within the wider context of the systems strategy for the business).
- Change Management: Champion best practices for change management within the aligned business unit and represent all changes at Change Advisory Board. Work closely with internal engineering resources, and third‑party vendors as required, to prioritise and manage change implementation.
- Systems Expertise: Be a subject matter expert within the business for all business unit systems and configurations. Advise the wider business on functionality as required and work to ensure all users are well‑trained and supported in their use of the systems.
- Systems Support: Provide systems consultative support for all departmental systems, primarily to the super users within the department, but also the wider business as required. Ensure support provided by third‑party support providers is appropriately prioritised and delivered in line with SLA.
- Vendor Management: Own vendor management for systems within the aligned business unit, including service reviews. Conduct market reviews at appropriate points in system lifecycles. Construct RFPs for new business unit requirements and contribute to RFPs for other systems where required.
- Systems Reporting: Work with other members of the department to provide comprehensive reporting on all systems, performance, and user satisfaction under your ownership. Ensure that the reporting requirements of the department can be met by the systems in their estate, working with them to define reports, create them within their systems, or implement additional reporting systems as required. For complex reporting requirements, engage the business data team for delivery.
- Business Unit Software: The Advisory department does not have Tier 1 enterprise software currently owned solely by their business unit. However, they are major stakeholders in the following software within our estate. You will be responsible for ensuring their requirements are appropriately represented and implemented in conjunction with your colleagues within the business systems team: Salesforce, SharePoint, Automation (Power Platform).
- Functional experience with Microsoft 365; particularly SharePoint and Teams.
- Experience in working closely with business requests, triaging need versus want.
