Energy Modeller

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development of features that capture complex market dynamics within Aurora’s models
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the modelling team’s agile delivery process
- Driving the application of modern software engineering practices including test-driven development and automated testing
- Identifying and addressing architectural bottlenecks and opportunities to improve scalability and developer experience
- Supporting the development of junior colleagues
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Relevant degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development in a commercial environment
- Demonstrated competence in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or similar
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical ability
- A deep interest in energy and/or decarbonization
- Strong interpersonal skills, and a great team player
- Experience in the continuous delivery of large-scale software
- Line management experience
- Experience in the field of mathematical optimization (Linear Programming, Dynamic programming, MIP etc.) in a commercial environment
- Experience working with Dev Ops/CI
