Entry-level role within the rollingstock maintenance team, offering on-the-job training and strong pathways for long-term growth. If you’re looking to kick-start your career in the rail industry, we’re seeking local applicants from Northam and surrounding areas to join our maintenance team at the Avon depot. As a Rollingstock Maintainer, you’ll support the maintenance, servicing, and repair of rail wagons to keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
Your new role:
- Inspect, repair, and maintain rail wagons, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Perform scheduled servicing, component replacement, and modifications as required.
- Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting on wagon components, including brakes, couplings, suspension, and pneumatic systems.
- Shunting of rollingstock and operating shunt units.
- Safe operation of mobile plant and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment.
About you:
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Current unrestricted WA driver’s license.
- High level of knowledge of functions, defects, and fault findings with equipment.
- Cert III in Engineering or equivalent would be highly regarded, however, is not essential.
- Substantial level of skills in repair, maintenance, and overhaul of machinery although not essential, would be highly regarded.
