We are currently supporting a FTSE 250 manufacturing business based in Central London in their search for an Interim Group Financial Reporting Accountant to join the team on a 3-month contract. This is a high-impact role requiring an experienced financial reporting professional with a proven background in complex, listed environments.

Start date: ASAP

Location: Central London (4 days / week in the office)

Contract length: 3 months (with potential to extend)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of annual and half-yearly statutory consolidated group financial statements under IFRS
  • Preparation of UK stand-alone financial statements under FRS101
  • Key contact for external auditors
  • Preparation of regulatory returns (including ONS)
  • Preparation of consolidated group cashflow and supporting analysis
  • Review and challenge of working capital and related provisions
  • Monitoring and analysing variances in group performance against budget
  • Preparation of accounting entries for incentive plans (including share-based payments)
  • Assistance in the preparation and analysis of group monthly management accounts
  • Preparing high quality papers including analysis and interpretation of accounting standards
  • Providing clear and relevant recommendations to business stakeholders on accounting related queries
  • Support of initiatives to standardise and strengthen financial control across the group including that to support UK Corporate Reform
  • Assistance with acquisition and disposal accounting and intangible valuation work
  • Assistance with group quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience in financial reporting within FTSE 250 or FTSE 100 companies
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Knowledge of statutory reporting requirements
  • Previous experience with plc group accounts and multi-currency consolidations
  • Excellent excel skills and previous experience of group reporting packages
  • Available to start immediately or at very short notice
