Aurex Group is partnered with a market-leading international energy company looking to hire an experienced Sustainability Manager to join their London-based team. This person will lead and coordinate ESG and sustainability initiatives across their European operations, with possibility for broader scope for the right person. The role will focus on integrating sustainability into core commercial activities, enhancing ESG reporting and compliance, and driving forward practical, business-aligned strategies for decarbonization, regulatory readiness, and reputational stewardship. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement European regional sustainability roadmap aligned with global ESG priorities. Support carbon reduction initiatives, energy transition strategy, and sustainable trading practices. Oversee data collection and reporting under evolving UK and EU regulations (e.g. CSRD, SFDR, CBAM). Coordinate disclosures related to GHG emissions, sustainability risks, and impact metrics. Work cross-functionally with trading, operations, risk, and legal teams to integrate ESG practices. Engage with clients, auditors, and regulators on ESG data, certifications, and inquiries. Monitor regulatory trends and sustainability developments relevant to commodity markets. Provide insight and risk assessments for new or changing ESG policy landscapes. Identify and manage sustainability-related initiatives including internal audits, supply chain reviews, and data infrastructure improvements. Track and measure ESG-related KPIs and outcomes. Key Requirements: 10-15+ years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or risk within the energy industry Strong working knowledge of ESG frameworks Familiarity with carbon accounting, voluntary and compliance carbon markets, and supply chain emissions Excellent project management and communication skills. Able to influence internal stakeholders across commercial and operational teams. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in sustainability, environmental science, economics, or related field is a plus.
