Aureos are seeking a HV Estimator to join our team in Scotland. In this role, you will develop accurate estimates and manage bids for design and build projects, including large and more complex major schemes ensuring that all client requirements and technical issues are fully considered. You will also hold responsibility for option appraisals and identifying and applying alternative solutions to enhance bid profitability and the delivery of value engineering. You will prioritise and manage your own workload, maintain accurate records of tenders submitted while interfacing with the General Manager, Operational Teams and our Work Winning / Procurement teams. This will be completed with the objective of ensuring accuracy, best value and competitiveness of estimate and accommodation of the supply chain critical path.
Primary Tasks and Duties
- Providing accurate take offs and maintaining a high level of competency when preparing prime cost estimates.
- Developing Value Engineering Proposals and providing innovation where applicable.
- Competently using Trimble Contract Master for preparing estimates.
- Managing client and key stakeholder requests in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications, Skills and Training
- Substations works (DNO & Private Networks) and associated equipment i.e. switchgear, cabling, earthing works, new / replacement transformers, protection and controls.
- Knowledge of various HV installations ranging from 11kV - 132kV and Windfarm Infrastructure upgrades / new installations.
- HV Cable installation and jointing works.
- Civils works - understanding of trenching, backfilling, plant and equipment requirements for projects and accurate vetting of quotations from supply chain partners.
- Staff Management and Delivery team requirements on site.
- HV Testing & Commissioning.
- Ideally have design and build capability with the ability to evaluate design scope gaps on tenders.
- Due to the level of mobility required in this role, a full UK driving license is essential.
