Aureos are hiring for a HSQE Advisor to join our Highways team working on the Liverpool City framework. This is a permanent office/site-based role. The role will involve the provision of competent health, safety, quality (assurance) and site environmental advice supporting the Liverpool City Project. Ensuring inspections and guidance for the site staff and management team is carried out. Providing challenge where required and not walking by. Promotion of safe equipment, standards and method of working. Showing the behaviours expected and leading by example at all times.
Primary Tasks and Duties
- Be a visible presence on site to identify unsafe working practices and conditions.
- Encourage quality contributions and ensure timely close out and feedback is actioned, promote lessons learnt and good practice sharing.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with site teams, clients and other stakeholders.
- Promotion of health and wellbeing support and directing staff where required.
- Prepare and deliver workforce (including subcontractors) engagement (toolbox talks, awareness sessions).
- Lead on and support incident investigations.
- Proactively improve in reducing risk through the planning process.
- Take an active role in developing, maintaining and promoting a positive HSQE culture.
Secondary Tasks and Duties
- Assisting the operational team with reviewing of CDM documentation.
- Assurance of process and working methods.
- Ensuring compliance with Aureos standards and client requirements.
- Undertaking reviews of risk assessment, method statements and task briefings.
- Provide support and advice for staff to aid and promote sustainable practices.
- Ensure all investigation findings and associated actions are closed within the required timescales.
- Promote the closure of NCR’s and OFI’s within the project.
Qualifications and Training
Essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate / Construction
- Experience of Civil Engineering works
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Driving Licence
- CSCS
Desirable
- Environmental Qualification (e.g. ISEP/IEMA, NEBOSH Env Cert.)
- Mental Health First Aider
- Kelvin Top Set 1 day
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of construction, civils and/or highways projects.
- Industrial knowledge across the infrastructure Services areas of Business
- Knowledge of HSQE management systems
- Site inspections and risk assessment experience
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
