Job Description
Aureos are looking to appoint a Head of Operations for the SSE framework in the South of England managing the substation projects.
The successful candidate will be;
- Functional lead for project delivery, overseeing Senior Project Managers (SPM) and Project Managers (PM) and project delivery teams for multiple projects, ensuring the safe, compliant, and commercially effective delivery of all projects and programmes.
- Accountable for overall profit and loss of a standard/complex project(s) and delivery on time to the highest standards of safety, sustainability, environmental and quality.
- Able to maintain a collaborative working environment which ensures client, internal and other stakeholders’ requirements are effectively managed, and employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver.
- Liaising with multiple departments to promote seamless project execution. The role will be performed at all project stages from Part A Feasibility, Part B Detailed Design and Part C Construction
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience managing construction or engineering projects valued at £40 million or more.
- Commercial awareness and experience with project control and contract conditions.
- Excellent understanding of construction management best practices.
- Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely is advantageous.
- Experience working with CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Formal qualification from a recognized Project Management or construction professional body (e.g., APM PMQ) or an HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant project management experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
