Aureos are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to work for the Energyline business unit who combine technical expertise with a collaborative approach to deliver design, survey, and consultancy services across the power sector. Aureos Energyline support a wide range of overhead line and underground cable projects—bringing together planning, environmental, and site-based teams to deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
Our Geotechnical Department is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-driven Geologist with a minimum of 2+ years of experience to become part of our highly skilled geotechnical team. This exciting role offers the perfect mix of office-based project work and hands-on field experience, giving you the opportunity to work across a wide range of transmission and distribution network projects. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality geotechnical services to major power infrastructure clients while developing your expertise alongside experienced industry professionals.
What you will be doing:
- Geo-environmental desk studies for linear infrastructure projects (OHL, cables and pipelines).
- Site reconnaissance, geomorphological mapping and asset assessments.
- Ground investigation supervision including logging/sampling BS5930/EC7.
- Project management of small to medium sized projects under direction of Senior or Principal Geologist.
- Preparing ground models, producing analytical sections and engineering parameters.
- Geotechnical data analysis, processing and production of mapping.
- Office support – project planning, proposal and cost preparation and business development.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant Geosciences degree (i.e. Earth Sciences, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering).
- Proficient in soil/rock logging, sampling and site supervision.
- Good working knowledge of ArcGIS.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g. GeoFine, Slope/w, Pebble Geo).

- Practical problem-solving abilities.
