Aureos have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician / Approved Electrician with Datacomms experience to join our Infrastructure Solutions team, based at our Exeter depot. Our electricians are at the heart of what we do, delivering essential electrical and datacomms works that keep our customers’ operations running safely and efficiently. You’ll work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, supporting installation, maintenance, and testing across a diverse range of sites, ensuring that every job is completed safely, to standard, and with pride.
Tasks and duties:
- Carry out datacomms installation (fibre and copper), maintenance and testing in line with current standards.
- Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and testing in line with BS7671 and Aureos policies and procedures.
- Set out jobs from drawings and specifications, requisition materials, and ensure all works are completed to the highest standard.
- Commission and test electrical and datacomms systems and issue relevant certification.
- Fault-find and carry out remedial works.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers where required.
- Support and mentor apprentices or trainees as part of your daily role.
Qualifications, training and skills:
- Completion of a registered electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2).
- City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection, Testing and Certification) – desirable.
- Experience/accreditation for structured cabling, fibre and blown fibre systems.
- Experience of working in data centres, rack mounted equipment installations and associated patching.
- Good IT skills.
- ECS Card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A strong focus on safety and quality.
- The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
