Job Overview

Aureos is seeking a Buyer to join our group function. This role involves managing the end‑to‑end procurement of indirect goods and services across categories such as stationery, PPE and workwear, IT, facilities, marketing and professional services. The position requires experience in the construction sector and a focus on indirect spend management. The Buyer will lead RFQs, tenders and contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards. The role also drives continuous improvement in supply‑chain operations, monitors key performance indicators, and identifies opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation and process efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a proactive negotiator and relationship builder with a strong analytical mindset and stakeholder engagement skills. The role will support data‑driven decision‑making and foster collaborative partnerships with suppliers and internal teams. Successful candidates may work from one of our offices in Crewe, Nottingham or Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure indirect goods and services in line with company policies and category strategies.
  • Lead RFQs, tenders and supplier negotiations to secure best value.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, including DNO suppliers.
  • Monitor supply‑chain performance using KPIs and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and innovation.
  • Deliver contract negotiations and supplier performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand needs and align procurement strategies.
  • Provide efficient and timely procurement of materials in line with overall business strategy.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with project teams to manage budgets effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal, ethical and sustainability standards and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts and supplier information.
  • Work closely with Finance to resolve invoice issues and support smooth P2P process.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement or purchasing (2–5 years preferred).
  • Experience procuring materials related to indirect spend.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools; experience with systems such as COINS.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • CIPS qualification or working towards one.
