Aureos are seeking an experienced Wireman / Electrical Fitter to work on NGED electrical distribution substations. The role involves carrying out electrical wiring, termination, earthing, and installation works on new-build and refurbishment projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, to specification, and in compliance with NGED standards and UK regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Installation & Wiring
- Wiring, glanding, and termination of LV/MV protection and control panels
- Installation and wiring of relay panels, marshalling kiosks, RTUs, bay panels, and switchgear auxiliaries
- Cable pulling, routing, cleating, dressing, and identification
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules
- Installation of substation earthing systems
- Earthing and bonding of structures, panels, equipment, and containment systems
- Installation of earth tapes, rods, and connections in accordance with NGED specifications
- Electrical fitting and assembly of substation equipment
- Installation of containment systems including cable tray, ladder, conduit, and trunking
- Supporting testing and commissioning activities as required
- Compliance with NGED Safety Rules and site-specific RAMS
- Adherence to CDM Regulations and UK Health & Safety legislation
- Maintaining a safe, tidy, and compliant working environment
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Wireman, Electrical Fitter, or Panel Wireman
- Experience working within substations or industrial electrical environments
- Competency in panel wiring, termination, glanding, and earthing
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings
- NGED authorised
Qualifications & Certifications
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent electrical qualification
- Valid CSCS or ECS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
