Aureos are seeking a Site Manager to work on NGED Substations. The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a construction site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Site Manager must coordinate between project manager, clerk of works, client and various stakeholders and manage on-site activities efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision
    • Manage and supervise all site operations, ensuring compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other site personnel to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution.
    • Regularly monitor work progress and resolve issues that arise on-site.
  • Health & Safety Compliance
    • Implement and maintain safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations on-site.
    • Conduct regular inductions, team briefs, toolbox talks, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Conduct regular site audits, housekeeping audits, welfare audits, and fire drills.
    • Investigate and report any safety incidents or near-misses.
    • Check and record competencies of internal staff and contractors.
  • Project Planning & Scheduling
    • Collaborate with the project manager and Clerk of Works to update site work schedules.
    • Ensure that all resources (manpower, materials, equipment) are available as per the project timeline.
    • Adjust site work schedules in response to changes in project plans, resource availability, or weather conditions.
  • Quality Assurance & Control
    • Work closely with Clerk of works to ensure quality standards are met by contractors.
    • Ensure that all work on-site meets quality standards as defined by the project specifications.
    • Conduct inspections of materials and workmanship to verify compliance with technical specifications.
    • Address any non-conformance issues in a timely manner and take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Communication & Reporting
    • Maintain clear communication channels with project stakeholders, including the project manager, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders.
    • Provide regular progress reports, including daily logs, to the project manager and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Attend site meetings, discussing progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Resource Management
    • Oversee the allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials on-site.
    • Monitor the use of resources to ensure efficiency and avoid wastage.
    • Work with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the site.
  • Budget & Cost Control
    • Work with the project manager to monitor and manage site expenses.
    • Ensure that site activities are completed within budget and propose cost-saving measures when appropriate.
    • Assist the project manager with review of subcontractor and supplier invoices for accuracy before submitting them for payment.
  • Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution
    • Proactively identify potential challenges on-site and implement solutions to minimize disruption.
    • Resolve any disputes between workers, subcontractors, or other stakeholders that could affect the project timeline or quality.
    • Escalate complex issues to the project manager or higher management as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Relations
    • Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and consultants as needed to ensure smooth communication and project alignment.
    • Act as the primary on-site point of contact for stakeholders during site visits and inspections.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site activities, including daily logs, material deliveries, inspections, and incident reports.
    • Ensure that all documentation is completed in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Regulatory update on site CDM files.
    • Draft RAMS as requested by the Project Manager.
