Aureos Ltd are looking for a Design Coordinator to lead the coordination of civils and building design and engineering on projects in our Energy division. Design management and coordination is a key function to delivering scheme success, especially as the number of design & build projects we deliver increases.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Identification and development of value engineering opportunities across secured projects during mobilisation and construction; support project management in terms of identifying and assessing project risks and opportunities.
  • Production of permanent and temporary works design deliverables schedules.
  • Engagement with and performance management of external design consultancies on design & build schemes up until initial design approval for each element of work.
  • Represent the design team in liaising with the other internal and external functions, including suppliers and clients.
  • Coordinate design teams across all disciplines on the project including subcontractors and client designers.
  • Drive the multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and ensure they are captured and developed to enable successful project delivery.
  • Actively drive safety by design and contribute to hazard review meetings.
  • Carry out site surveys and coordinate work with site teams as required.
  • Support site teams with matters related to technical and engineering designs and aspects.
  • Liaise with project management on engineering work and report on engineering progress, labour forecasts, cost-to-complete estimates.
  • Manage engineering changes on projects in line with the company and contractual procedures.
  • Ensure design is in line with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for on-time delivery as per the project timelines, requirements and quality.
  • Ensure design is delivered in line with projects work information and employer requirements.
  • Ensure design work is delivered in line with applicable standards and specifications.

Outcome: To optimise buildability, value, risk, and programme through design.

Skills, experience and qualifications:
  • HNC/HND or equivalent is a minimum. BEng. or equivalent is desirable.
  • IEng or CEng chartership status is desirable.
  • Experience in using CAD tools and working in BIM environment.
  • Essential 5+ years experience in civil and building design.
  • Knowledge of HSE statutes.
  • Knowledge of civils and building standards and regulations.
