Aureos is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Andover working on our SSE Framework. Working within Aureos’ Energy Business Unit, and forming a part of the Commercial team, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results. Core responsibilities encompass project delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit.
Aureos Rail works collaboratively with our customers to deliver critical national infrastructure projects across the UK’s rail network. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor is responsible for assisting the commercial team in completing and maintaining well-organised records, contributing to the timely production of applications for payment and accurate project reporting, and independently running minor works projects and frameworks.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding project risk
- Production of cost value reconciliation (CVRs) with support
- Understanding the production of forecasting data
- Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation
- Attending project progress meetings
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial performance reports
- Gaining experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within the business

- Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement

- Other tasks appropriate to the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor, as identified by the Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor
