Aureos are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Process team. Reporting directly to Operations Manager & Lead Engineer for project related activities. The role is to be part of the design team, based at Stockton head office, working under a nominated Lead Engineer for the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) for Process applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Adhering to the Quality Assurance and Cyber Security requirements defined for the project.
  • Working as part of a project team.
  • Prepare I/O schedules from Client provided information (such as P&IDs) and discussions.
  • Write Functional Design Specifications from User Requirement Specifications, Control Philosophies and Client discussions.
  • Prepare test documentation to demonstrate project scope has been delivered.
  • Assist in the development of the System Architecture.
  • Development, modification and testing of Controller, HMI, SCADA, and Network device software.
  • Client Factory Acceptance Testing (CFAT).
  • Onsite commissioning support.
  • Review technical documentation and software produced by others.
  • Purchase requisitions for project specified equipment.
  • Specify project equipment to be purchased.

Qualifications and Training

  • Level 4 (HNC/NVQ) or above or equivalent experience in an associated discipline.
  • Preferred: Working towards or achieved I. Eng or equivalent.
  • Successful candidates should demonstrate at least 2 years IACS experience, operating at an appropriate level.

Knowledge

  • A knowledge of applied IACS technologies & architectures, such as Industrial Protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, etc) and Ethernet Networking (Linear, Star, Ring, etc).
  • Working within the following preferred sectors: Process – Water/Wastewater, Manufacturing, Petrochemical & Iron / Steel.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in programming Controllers (PLC, PAC, RTU, etc) or HMI or SCADA or Network Devices (Switch, Firewall, Protocol Gateway, etc) from IACS.
  • Familiar with IACS manufacturers (such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Hirschmann, Moxa, Cisco, Copa Data, SEL, GE Grid, ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, etc).
