Aureos are seeking multiple Wireman/Fitters to join our team in Inverness. As a Wireman/Fitter at Aureos, you'll be at the core of our high voltage operations, helping to maintain, install, and repair critical infrastructure for DNOs, IDNOs, and private clients across the South Wales and Bristol region. You’ll be joining a team that works across Aureos's HV projects, ensuring network stability and supporting clients with new installations, upgrades, and responsive maintenance.

Daily tasks and duties:

  • Installing and maintaining HV equipment and switchgear, including AIS and GIS systems up to 132kV
  • Working on power transformers, protection panels, battery chargers, SCADA/telecontrol panels, and more
  • Carrying out planned and emergency maintenance across customer and DNO networks
  • Interpreting technical drawings, setting out installation work, and ensuring all activities comply with design specs and safety standards
  • Collaborating with engineers, project managers and clients to ensure efficient, safe delivery of work
  • Participating in out-of-hours and standby duties to respond to urgent operational issues
  • Supporting a range of industrial environments, including manufacturing and commercial private networks

Skills and experience:

  • DNO industry experience in the UK or overseas, with a recognised qualification in Electrical Power Engineering
  • A proven track record in the construction, repair, and operation of HV equipment up to 132kV
  • An NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work
  • A sound knowledge of HV and LV systems and experience working as an Electrician (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with a range of switchgear, protection types, and installation/maintenance procedures
  • Competency using testing equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • A flexible approach to completing standby and out-of-hours work
  • A full UK driving licence - travel is essential in this role
