GSP is seeking an Environmental Advisor to provide expert guidance and support on environmental compliance, risk management, and sustainability initiatives across our operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and support the preparation of environmental permits and licenses.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor environmental performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide environmental training and awareness programs to employees at all levels.
- Investigate environmental incidents, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and external consultants on environmental matters.
- Support the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular environmental performance reports to management.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an environmental advisory or management role, preferably within the oil and gas or heavy industry sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and international standards (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct EIAs and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
- Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Environmental Diploma) are highly desirable.
