Carpenter Joiner in Carrickfergus

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials accurately.
• Manufacture and install doors, window frames, staircases, skirting, architraves, cabinets, and other bespoke joinery.
• Carry out first-fix and second-fix carpentry and joinery work.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
• Fit and install timber components on construction sites and in workshops.
• Ensure all joinery is accurately aligned, levelled, fitted, and finished to a high standard.
• Repair, modify, and adjust existing timber structures and fittings.
• Work closely with other trades and site supervisors to meet project requirements.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep the work area clean and organised.
• Follow all site and workshop health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Carpenter/Joiner or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques.
• Experience with both first-fix and second-fix carpentry.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
• Good attention to detail and high-quality finishing skills.
• Experience with bespoke or finish joinery is an advantage.
• Relevant carpentry/joinery qualification, apprenticeship, or trade certification is preferred.
• Physically fit and able to work on construction sites and at heights where required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
