Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an Adult Clinical Lead Nurse to oversee and support the delivery of high-quality adult domiciliary care packages. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, leading clinical governance, and providing expert guidance to care teams. This role requires a proactive leader with strong clinical expertise and a commitment to patient-centred care.
Reports To
Registered Manager / Clinical Manager / Director (depending on company structure).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the clinical governance of Adult domiciliary care packages, ensuring all services meet CQC and best practice standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of new clients, developing and reviewing personalised care plans.
- Provide clinical supervision, training, and mentorship to nursing and care staff, ensuring competency and professional development.
- Support the safe and effective administration of medications, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Lead on risk assessments and safeguarding, ensuring concerns are escalated appropriately.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, district nurses, and therapists, to ensure coordinated care.
- Monitor service quality, auditing clinical records, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Act as a clinical expert and point of contact for complex cases, providing guidance and support to staff and families.
- Assist with the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of nursing and care staff.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance documentation in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration (Minium 3 years’ experience required).
- Experience in domiciliary care, complex care, or community nursing is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance, and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to conduct clinical assessments and develop care plans for individuals with complex needs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Experience in risk management, quality assurance, and incident investigation.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (preferred).
Working Conditions
- Office and field-based role, requiring travel to clients’ homes and service locations.
- Flexible working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on service needs.
