About AURApeutics: Born from breakthrough research at the University of Oxford, AURApeutics is engineering a physical answer to one of the world's greatest challenges, antimicrobial resistance. While traditional antibiotics have already lost the fight against chronic infections and biofilms, we are completely changing how medicines are being delivered. Our proprietary AURA platform deploys ultrasound-activated nanoparticles to physically shatter treatment-resistant infections on command, replacing failed chemistry with precision physics and engineering. Over the next 12 months, we are making the critical leap from benchtop R&D to clinical readiness. Operating as a lean, distributed team, we don't adhere to bureaucratic hierarchies, busywork, or unnecessary formalities. We care about empirical rigour, rapid execution, and giving ambitious graduates the autonomy to help turn breakthrough science into a life-saving therapeutic. If you want your first career step to be tackling one of the world's most urgent healthcare threats, join us in building the future of medicine.
The Role: You are a hungry, highly organized science graduate looking for your definitive break into the biotech industry. You don't want to spend the next two years washing glassware or buried in the bureaucracy of a massive pharmaceutical corporation. You want to be at the epicentre of a rapidly scaling company, seeing exactly how breakthrough science becomes a commercial reality. As our Operations Associate, you will act as the crucial execution engine for our Head of Quality & Operations. Working directly alongside our leadership team, your mission is to drive our operational momentum. You will coordinate the flow of critical information across our digital ecosystem, streamline complex processes, and ensure our world-class external partners stay perfectly aligned with our strategic goals. We need a builder with the raw processing power to juggle multiple moving parts, an obsessive attention to detail, and the confident communication skills to bridge the gap between our executive team and external vendors.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Drive Operational Momentum: Sit in on critical tech-transfer and CDMO strategy meetings with our Scientific Lead and Head of Ops. You won't just be taking notes; you'll navigate the balance between science and operation, assign clear owners, and drive action items to completion.
- Data Translation & Tracking: Pull the numbers that matter out of dense CDMO reports and build them into our internal systems, giving the leadership team the real-time visibility needed to make on-the-fly decisions.
- Supply Chain Logistics: Own the movement of critical materials across our network of external vendors and CDMOs. If a logistics bottleneck threatens our development timeline or won't reach a patient in time, you'll be the one spotting it and solving it.
- System & QMS Ownership: Take charge of our Microsoft workspace, formatting, proofreading, and preparing technical SOPs, policies, and regulatory documents so they transition smoothly into our eQMS.
- Strategic Partner Liaison: Act as the operational bridge to our outsourced partners and collaborators. You'll process vendor invoices, verify that project milestones have been met, and pull together data packages for regulatory submission.
You're The One If:
- You hold a recent BSc or MSc in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Pharmacology, or a related field. You already speak the scientific language, know your in vitro from your in vivo, and can follow a technical discussion without getting lost.
- You are a natural operator. Whether you led a university society, organized large-scale events, or balanced complex projects alongside your degree, you know how to bring order to chaos and get things over the finish line no matter what.
- You're a tech guru and thrive in an autonomous fully remote setup. You don't need hand-holding to stay organized or keep your momentum.
- You have a builder's mindset. You don't wait around to be told what to do next; if you see a gap, bottleneck, or missing piece of information, you jump on it and solve it without hesitation.
Why Join Us?
- Zero Busywork, Real Impact: Skip the rigid graduate training schemes where you're just a cog in a machine. You'll work directly with our executive team, seeing how a biotech company makes decisions, pivots, and scales.
- True Autonomy: We care about momentum, ownership, and accuracy, not micromanaging your every move and tracking when you log on.
- Build the Engine: Because we're growing, our systems aren't set in stone. You won't be following existing workflows; you'll have the freedom to build, streamline, and own the operational architecture from Day One.
- A Meaningful Mission: You aren't spending weeks making one PowerPoint slide look pretty. Everything you build and every timeline you track directly fuels our work to bring a new therapy to the clinic and tackle antimicrobial resistance head-on.
- Comprehensive Healthcare & Wellbeing: We cover your physical and mental health from Day One. You get private medical, dental, optical, audiological, and extended mental health support (and the chance for a free Apple Watch!).
- 100% Remote Flexibility: Work from home or wherever you operate best within the UK, giving you complete schedule autonomy and zero commute.
